Gypsum Concrete Underlayment in Washington

Computer-batched pours, documented QC, and code-ready sound control for multifamily builders in Washington.

Home State. Home Advantage.

Washington is where Sound Floors lives. Our shop and our Smart Batch® GC-1 batch plant are based in Puyallup, which puts the entire Puget Sound construction corridor — Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, Everett, Olympia — within an easy morning mobilization, and Vancouver and Spokane within a planned pour window. When a Washington GC calls about a slipped framing schedule, we can usually answer with a date, not an apology.

Washington is also the state where our core claim is easiest to test: we are Washington’s Smart Batch®-equipped gypsum concrete crew. Every batch we pour here is weighed by computer, archived to the cloud, and reported for your closeout file. Ask any other gypcrete crew in Washington for a per-batch mix report. We’ll wait.

Growth. Density. Sound Ratings.

Washington’s growth-management framework keeps pushing housing into wood-frame multifamily — garden-style communities along the I-5 and I-405 corridors, 5-over-1 podium buildings in the urban centers, and townhome infill nearly everywhere zoning allows it. Every one of those buildings needs a floor assembly that hits its UL fire rating and the IBC’s STC 50 / IIC 50 sound minimums between units, and in wood-frame construction that means a gypsum concrete topping, usually over an acoustic mat. Add Washington’s wet season — where over-watered hand-batched pours dry slowly and hold schedules hostage — and computer-controlled water content stops being a luxury.
